  2. Hi, How big should the wig cap be when compared to the head? I believe mine came out to small. I used the same hook and stiches but it barely covers the head of the lion. I just wanted to know if thats right or not

  3. (oh goodness I dont know if my first comment sent) Hi, Im loving this pattern but i’ve run into a snag. The mane cap seems to small in comparison with the lion’s head. I used the same hook size and followed the pattern to a T but the end result is a little cap that barely fits over the top of the lion’s head. I dont know if this is right or not

    1. Hi Kat, the mane cap should fit snugly on the lions head. If you’ve followed the pattern, I’m not sure where else it went wrong. It’s been a while since I’ve done it. Can someone who has done it already help us out please? Sorry that I couldn’t help you.

      1. My cap came out the same way. Can’t even pull it over the top of the head. Think it’s wrong :/
But the rest of the pattern is beautiful. Love it so much.

    2. Bonjour, pour la crinière il faut prendre un crochet n°3 au lieu du 2,5 qui est prévu pour le reste
Par contre je comprend pas le sens a mettre sur la tête les 2 petites bosses , peut-être sur le devant pour relever la crinière ?

  4. I am loving making this for my nephew! I am working on the mane and I noticed it goes from round 8 to 10, is round 9 omitted on purpose? Thank you for all the hard work you did creating such an amazing pattern!

  5. Hi, I’m also confused about the mane cap. Someone commented that row is omitted.Maybe that extra row of sc would help make it a bit larger? Anyone else try this, or have a solution to make it a big bigger? And I’m not sure which way to put the cap on the head. Do the pointy parts go back to front, or side to side? I had a lot of success with the rest of the pattern, but I’m a little stuck here!

  6. I don’t know if my previous comment went through. Did anyone have any luck figuring out the mane? I agree that it turns out way too small. I would think it’s supposed to fit like like winter toque (sorry, Canadian here!) but the one I ended up with looks more like a beret… not sure what to do looking for support!

    1. the row nine in the cap is missing so I did 9 and 10 in sc and followed the rest of the pattern and the cap fits

  7. I had no problem with the wig cap. I followed the pattern to a “T” and it worked out fine. I added the hair strands before attaching the wig to the head and was able to place it where I wanted it to be. It turned out great.

  8. Hi! At what rows do you add the muzzle? I used the same size hook for both the head and muzzle but the muzzle looks too big.

    1. Khrysten I was wondering the same thing. I’m with you the muzzle looks too big. Right now I’m making all the parts then putting it together. Right now I guess I will figure it out when I go to put him together. Hope you were able to figure out where to put your muzzle.

  9. hi I really like this pattern but I am a little confused at the end of the head and body do you close the tops at 18 sc or do you add more row till you get 6 sc then close

    Like

    1. Josephine Blankenship you do not close the head and body. You leave them open at 18 sc. I have a lot of patterns that are open like this. You just sew the head on top of the body.

    1. I had no trouble making the lion except for the legs, and knowing how to attach the parts. Can you make a video or have someone make it for you?

  11. I am working the lions muzzle. Does the parentheses mean I do the same stitch in one stitch or do I do that many stitches in the next number of stitches.

  12. Hi! How did you do the lion feet stitches? It looks to be embroidered with yarn(? Or is it embroidery floss?), but I’ve never done one of these before so I wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help!

      1. I have a question about the embroidery on the paws, too. How did you hide the First and last ends of yarn? I did it on the other parts of the lion by hiding them in the mane section. Please advise. Thank you!

  13. When you use a : does that mean you repeat that row until your next instruction?
Head round 10 skips to 17.
Mane skips from 8 to 10.
Legs skip from 12 to 20.
    Arms skip from 13 to 26 .

  14. Hi. I am about to start my lion for my granddaughter, but I had a question. Do you happen to recall what brand of yarn you used? I know the type I use is entirely up to me, but I have to order it online and it is easier if I can estimate yardage and not buy too much. Thanks in advance.

    1. Hi Peggy, thanks for asking. I live in Australia and I used the Acrylic yarn from Lincraft. It was a 8ply yarn, and finished the whole lion with one skein. The mane needed a little bit more than one skein of brown yarn to make it appear voluminious. Hope it helps.

    2. Hi! I wanted to ask the patternmaker this question, but I have to get this done soon. Did you make the Lion?

I’m using 4 ply Caron Acrylic
And the feel is so hard. Is it supposed to be?
I imagined it soft and baby feel.

  15. I’m making my first lion with your pattern. It is for my best childhood friend’s grandson. I’m going to put a fuzzy stick in the tail so it can be posed. Thought it might be a cute touch. I love the pattern.

  16. Hi, so after looking over your instructions I noticed that you have several areas that are missing rows or rounds, are these rounds that are to be crochet the same from the last rounds? If this is the case I think you really need to fix your instructions so that people don’t get confused. I do a lot of crocheting and when I started to read your instructions I thought to my self did she forget to add the rounds as the same as round 10? Which I mean that round 11 – 16 would be crochet as round 10 and the same for the other areas. I know that it must have taken you a while to write these instructions for the Lion but it seems that there are a lot of people who want to make this Lion and when missing information is in the instruction well they just may pass on making it. I almost did till I started making the head and after re-reading the instructions over and over then it hit me that rounds 11-16 are crochet the same as round 10 is. So off I went and got the head done. Great job on the instructions just fix the areas that need to be fixed. Thanks

  18. I love the pattern. I have started with 4 ply acrylic and the size crochet hook you recommended. My magic circle is perfect!!
But….this little lion is going to be so “hard”
in feel. Is it supposed to be? I was thinking a soft little lion. The stitches are very tight, giving my lion a sandpaper texture. HELP!

  20. Hi! Did you root in extra yarn around the neck? Below the cap? My lion doesn’t have hair all around the neck. I’m certain I can just add it – but was curious if I missed something.

    Thanks!
